Tribute to My Mother

Dear Mama,

You taught me almost everything I know...literally, because you spent my first 16 years of life teaching me at home.  You prepared me well.  Thank you.
You helped me learn to love reading and passed on your desire to teach.
When you didn't know how to do something, you found opportunities for me to learn from someone else...and then you learned right along with me.
You taught me practical housewife skills: budgeting, cooking, cleaning, mending, etc.  Those skill are invaluable...thank you.
But you didn't just teach me...you taught (and are still teaching) my 5 younger siblings.
And you still have room in your heart to welcome others and care for them like a mother.
Sometimes you seem like superwoman to me...
But you also showed me that you are human.  You were able to apologize when you were wrong and to ask your children to pray for you.  You taught me that no one is perfect, but that Jesus is the answer to that imperfection...that His grace is sufficient.
Thank you.
I hope to be a mother like you.
I love you

Truly we do rise up and call her blessed.
