Simple, Sweet Cards

I originally made these cards for Mother's Day for my mother and mother-in-law.  However this simple, sweet design can easily be used for any sort of note.

Remember seeing these floating around on Pinterest?

As soon as I saw these, I had my mother start collecting corks for me.  She mostly buys cheaper wine that has the fake, plastic corks.  However, I decided to try it anyways.  And guess what?  It works!!!

Now I just need to increase my ink pad collection…I only have one color (which is why the leaves and stems are drawn on =P)

I am not doing a full tutorial in this post for two reasons.
1. It is SO simple.
2. There is already a great tutorial
that I linked to above.

But I will give a supplies list:
As many corks as ideas
A creative mind
Sharpie (or other pen)
An exacto knife

Here is the final product of the gift for my Mom. Coconut Oil for her feet, a gift card for a pedicure, and the pretty card signed by all her children. I was quite proud of my cute wrapping. =P

Be blessed!

Valentines Day

It sounds like many of you had a nice Valentine's Day. I did a well, I woke up to 3 red roses on my nightstand and another dozen in the kitchen! (My 1st dozen red roses ever!) My sneaky husband waited until I was asleep Monday night to head to the store and by me roses. I woke up when he got back in bed with me but didn't suspect a thing and didn't even see the roses until he pointed the out the next morning! =) Aren't they beautiful?

For dinner I made Monterey Chicken and salad with leftover French bread from the night before. I got the chicken recipe from Pinterest, but I forgot to take a picture! =,( Sad day! Oh well, we both thoroughly enjoyed it!

I spent most of the day working on this for my hubby:

When he got home that was waiting for him. Unfortunately:
1. I didn't finish all 52 in time, so some are still waiting to be hidden and I have 10 left to make (I'll be doing that this afternoon).
2. And it had been a stressful day at work for him so he didn't get excited about it until later (after the stress had worn off and we had eaten some delicious food).
But that's okay, because he still hasn't finished finding all the ones I have hidden so far.

I think he is enjoying finding them all. I also got him a subscription to this Internet service that he has been wanting for awhile in our pursuit of going paperless. Yes, we are nerdy. Anywho, we had a calm evening with much needed opportunities to talk through life. Hope your Valentine's was blessed.

Oh, btw...check out this ADORABLE Valentine we got from my 7-year-old brother, Adam. He made his Valentine's all by himself and with no prompting from my mom! =)

Sweet Sisterhood

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas.  I sure did; although Christmas day felt about as long as 2 days since we did so much!  I have a wonderful husband, family, and in laws.  Our day was blessed.

So yesterday, I had all three of my sisters over for  a crafting day.  After working from about 9 am til 3ish we decided that it was not long enough and we need to have more of these fun sister-bonding days!  Several tutorials and crafting idea posts are to come!  My sisters a super creative and I love working with them.

Let me briefly introduce you:
Alison is a junior in college and getting a buisness degree.  She is usually the most creative and the one who started me off on the blogging journey by introducing me to a blogging website - Sweet Verbena.  Between my sister and Katy from Sweet Verbena I was inspired to reawaken my love a crafting and launch into the blogging world!

Abigail is a junior in high school, a talented actress, and highly opinionated.  She loves to knit, sew, and craft and make some incredible projects.  She was also my picture taking buddy yesterday and has kindly allowed me to display all of her creations here on my blog!

Anna is a freshman in high school and is an incredible runner.  She is also super creative and anything that requires working with her hands she can do very well.  Most of my card making inspiration comes from her and I hope to feature several of her projects here as well!

More posts coming soon!  Have a blessed week in Jesus.

Christmas Cards

So as our first Christmas being married, I didn't feel the need to do a grand Christmas letter with blow-by-blow happenings of the past 7 months since my wonderful husband and I have been married....is that bad?  So I made less than 20 cards that said "Merry Christmas" and had a verse inside and left it at that.  Only a few special people got them and I am happy.  Maybe next year I will launch into the scary world of mass Christmas card mailings and an intense "here's our life!" letter inside.  For now, these are my simple creations and I am happy. =)

I got the idea for this off of (where else) Pinterest.  However, I made my cards full sized and added ribbon/thread.  I like the effect.
Here is the link to the original from the Etsy page that they are sold.
And...here is the link to my Card Making Board on my Pinterest.

Enjoy!  This will probably be my last post until after Christmas.  So...

Merry, Merry Christmas to you all!  May the JOY of the salvation that was given in Jesus fill your hearts and homes this Christmas!
