A Fashion Post?
(Okay so it's not a really link party...I haven't quite had time to figure out how to really do that yet. But if you leave a comment with a link to your blog post, then I promise I'll try to figure it out soon!)
Bumble bee look! I tried both white and black sweaters. I decided that the black had the sharper look that I wanted.
Here are a few more pictures...I was having fun with collages!
and I wore this...
Be blessed.

Voices I Know
"The voice of the Lord is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The Lord is over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; The voice of the Lord is full of majesty." Psalm 29:3, 4 NKJV
The lady teaching this passage (who was one of my youth leaders when I was jn high school) pointed out that David knew God's voice. She challenged us, "Do you know God's voice?"
She reminded us of John 10 that talks about Jesus being our shepherd. In this passage, Jesus talks about how sheep recognize the voice of their shepherd. Look at these two verses...
"And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers." John 10:4, 5 NKJV
Once again, she challenged us, "Do we become so familiar with other voices that we no longer recognize them as a threat? Two voices she pointed out that we often listen to were:
- The voice of reason = Do we rationalize our way out of doing what God has called us to? Do we take the easy path instead of obeying God's word?
- The voice of condemnation or shane = Do we fail to live in the grace and freedom that is given us in Christ Jesus? Do we live in constant fear if "messing up"?
Thus really hit home for me so I wanted to share it with you. I hope God uses it to speak to you also.
Be blessed!

Aren't they amazing? I resewed my jeans to make them skinny jeans with this cool tutorial. I wish I had a photo if my whole outfit but by the time I could get one it was too dark and the lighting in our apartment is terrible!
Anywho, I am very happy with them. Big thanks to my sweet hubby. I'll get pictures up of the other pair room...hopefully with a full body shoot this time!
Don't forget to follow my blog and leave me a comment so I can follow yours! Be blessed. <3

Snow Pictures
Those of you who live in snowy places are probably unimpressed and bored right now. But I have been thrilled! One problem: when you live somewhere that doesn't get snow very often and then you get 18+ inches out of the blue...everyone freaks out. So other than crazy drivers and business shutting down and the subsequent ice storm and massive power outages...this midwinter storm has been awesome!
Stay tuned for a fashion post tomorrow. =)

Snowed In
So I am holed in. My hubby can work from home which is REALLY nice. We've ventured out in walks every day but so far we stayed within 2 miles (aka. reasonable walking distance) and yes, we did walk 2 miles in the snow at 6:30 last night to my in laws house...and back. It was actually fun.
But today after the power went out when the snow storm turned into an ice storm, we finally dug our car out to get a hot lunch. I'll spare you the details of our trek through a melting 18" of snow and getting towed out of trouble by an F250 truck, but we are back home waiting for power with a new iPhone. Yes, IPHONE! My upgrade was finally available and I got a new iPhone 4s! AND I am using it to post this! Super exciting! Anywho...hope all of you are having a slightly les eventful day than I am.
Be blessed!
P.S. Yes...I know that "anywho" is not a real word. But I like it so I use it anyways! =)

Linking Up
- I am linking to my first blog! ( I should have done it before now, but I've been scared...)
- This verse God really used in my life at the conference I went to last week. (If you missed my post about it, go check it out!) So...although the picture does not really go with the words of the verse, it goes with it in my mind. The picture is my favorite of the scenery shots for the conference location.

Poll: So You Think You Can Sew {Week 1: For the Home}
Poll: So You Think You Can Sew {Week 1: For the Home}
Chapter 24 of Isaiah is talking about God's final judgement on the earth. Verses 4-6 especially describe the defilement of the earth that has come from sin. When we look around us, it is easy to see that defilement in every area of society and even our own lives. I don't think we understand what a wretched place this earth has become…and I don't think we ever will until we can compare it to heaven. (Oh I can't wait for that day!
But the main thought that stuck out to me was in verse 23, the last verse in the chapter. It says, "Then the moon will be disgraced And the sun ashamed, For the LORD of hosts will reign On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem And before His elders, gloriously." (NKJV)
Wow! Do you see that? The LORD, reigning in His full glory, is so magnificent that the moon is disgraced and the sun is ashamed! Once again…wow! Can you even imagine something that radiant and beautiful? Something so wonderful and full of light that the SUN is put to shame?
This is our God! Let us praise Him for He alone is worthy.
Have a blessed day!

Sweater Refashion
Here we go!
Materials Needed:
Step Two:
Lay your sweater out on a flat surface, front facing up. Measure the bottom of your sweater. Mine was 14" across. Find the middle point and mark it with a fabric marking pencil. (Note - I don't own a fabric marking pencil so I simply use a white colored pencil. It works great!)
Step Three:
Use a flat edge to mark from the center bottom of the sweater, all the way to the collar. Then cut along your line to open the sweater up on the front.
Step Four:
My sweater had buttons along the top, so I cut them off and cut off as much excess fabric as I could.
I couldn't cut off the button holes or my line would have been uneven. So I just cut off the extra fabric surrounding the button holes. They will be hidden later, so don't worry! |
